FM MEETS SENIOR OFFICIALS OF US DEFENSE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold on Tuesday received senior officials of the US Defense who are visiting here in frames of the Capstone Military Leadership Program (CMLP). The Minister talked about the foreign policy of Mongolia and a present situation of the Mongolia-USA relations and cooperation, and then touched upon some issues of the bilateral defense cooperation. He also highlighted Mongolia’s position over the Northeast Asian region and answered some questions. CAPSTONE is a joint service professional military education courses for newly promoted brigadier generals and rear admirals serving in the United States military. The National Defense University conducts the CAPSTONE course at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, DC. The course objective is to ensure senior military leaders understand how military forces and other elements of national power are integrated and used to support national military strategies, and how joint, interagency, and multinational operations support strategic national objectives. This programme lets the US senior officials of defense visit those countries having friendly relations with the USA in order to get familiarized with the countries’ politics, defense and foreign policy. In frames of the programme, several US delegates have visited us before.
