FM Official Outlines Iran Solutions To Regional Problems

Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Middle East and Africa Hossein Amir Abdollahian outlined Iran’s solutions to regional conflicts. Talking in the preliminary meeting of an international seminar on youth and the Islamic awakening here on Saturday, he said that regional conflicts could be settled only through making reforms, trusting in people rather than relying on foreign forces, frankly heeding to people’s needs and hindering foreign interventions using the Islamic teachings and values. He said Iran believed that such an approach would be practical in Yemen, Syria and Bahrain. He noted that regional nations should attain their objectives through supporting resistance movement against the Zionist regime by relying on their national and Islamic pride with the objective of improving their security and stability both at regional and international levels. Noting that the martyrs of Iran’s scientific Jihad play a key role in materialization of the Islamic Awakeing, he believed that the protests and uprisings in the Arab world were inspired by the Islamic Awakening. Amir Abdollahian said these uprisings, enjoying surprising outcomes like formation of fresh security-political structures in the region, have put the US and the Zionist regime in even more isolation. He further dismissed any kind of role by the US and the Zionist regime in triggering revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa and said they are still in a political bewilderment and try to derail the uprisings./end
