FM Spokesman: Bushehr N-power Plant Doing Its Normal Activities

Tehran, June 12, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi stressed here on Tuesday that Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is doing its normal activities. Addressing his weekly press briefing, he said the 40-Megawatt heavy water reactor in Arak is no secret issue. He added that sufficient and necessary information has already been provided to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the Arak reactor. Saying that Arak reactor is under constant IAEA supervision, he noted that Iran has always been faithful to all its commitments. Asked to comment on the recent 5+1 statement in Vienna, he said it came in line with a number of other similar ones issued previously. He regretted that certain western countries have always exerted political pressures on the UN nuclear watchdog to issue reports against Iranˈs peaceful nuclear program. Tehran has always asked the IAEA chief to fulfill its tasks and refrain from politically-motivated approaches towards Iranˈs peaceful nuclear activities, the spokesman reiterated./end
