FM Spokesman : Fixing Date, Place Of Talks With 5+1, Good Step Forward

Tehran, May 29, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said fixing of date and place of next round of talks with the 5+1 is a good step forward. Addressing his weekly press briefing Tuesday morning, he said the designation of Moscow as the venue of the next round of talks is a positive measure. He also stressed the need for respecting Iran’s nuclear rights based on the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and said the treaty could serve as a very good basis for all countries to enjoy their nuclear rights. Commenting on mutual cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the spokesman further noted that talks and cooperation between Tehran and the UN nuclear watchdog has no direct relation with negotiations between Iran and the 5+1. Stressing that Iran has always had the highest degree of cooperation with the IAEA, Mehmanparast said Iran has kept announcing readiness to cooperate with the agency to remove any probable vague points./end
