FM Spokesman: Iran, 5+1 Reaching Agreement On Date Of Next Round Of Talks

Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Iran and the 5+1 have agreed on the date of the next round of talks. Talking to reporters on Tuesday during his weekly press briefing, he said that last week Iran informed 5+1 of its proposed date and place of the next round of talks with the group which includes the US, the UK, France, Russia, China and Germany. He further said that Helga Schmid, deputy EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, discussed the issue over the phone with Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Baqeri. During the conversation, he added, the two reached an agreement on the date of the talks. Mehmanparast did not announce the date of the talks but said that the talks will be resumed once the EU official informs Iran on the venue of the meeting./end
