FM Spokesman: Iran Ready To Remove Concerns If Reaches Agreement With IAEA

Tehran, Jan 8, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Iran is ready to remove concerns of the International Atomic Energy Agency if it reaches agreement with the nuclear watchdog entailing Iran’s full rights to peaceful nuclear activities. Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he made the remark while asked whether Iran is to grant permission to the IAEA envoys to visit Parchin site ahead of talks with the organization. He said many issues have been discussed during talks between the Iranian experts and the IAEA representatives. He added that ways to work out a cooperation framework to officially acknowledge Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities from a legal perspective and also the technical assistance the nuclear watchdog is obliged to render to Iran so that Tehran’s nuclear program meets no obstacles were also discussed. Mehmanparast noted that during the talks some topics or vague points were raised by the IAEA representatives as claims put forward against Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities by certain countries. He said though during the negotiations, they were never able to offer any real documents to prove their claims, Iran announced readiness to take necessary measures to remove all concerns if an ultimate agreement is reached between the two sides which would fully acknowledge Iran’s rights for peaceful nuclear activities as well as the fact that Iran’s nuclear knowledge and its fuel cycle is utterly for peaceful purposes./end
