FM Spokesman: Iran-Turkey Cooperating To Fight PKK

Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA – Visiting Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast announced in Istanbul on Saturday that Iran and Turkey intelligence services are cooperating to combat the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants. Mehmanparast made the remarks in a session that was attended by a number of Turkish press and top news agencies in Istanbul. Slamming the recent claims of the Turkish Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin regarding existance of ties between Iran and the PKK militants, he said Tehran has a clear stance toward terrorist groups, including the PPK. Mehmanparast said Tehran and Ankara are currently negotiating on a five-level security plan under supervision of Turkey Interior Ministry./end
