FM Spokesman Outlines Lavrov’s Visit To Tehran

Tehran, June 12, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Tuesday that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s upcoming visit to Tehran is aimed at reviewing Syrian developments as well as Moscow nuclear talks. Speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, Mehmanparast said the Iranian and Russian sides will also hold talks on the latest regional developments. The two are to review nuclear talks to be held between Iran and the sextet in Moscow. Iran and the Group 5+1- the US, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany- are to negotiate in the Russian capital on June 18-19. Mehmanparast said Lavrov is to arrive in Tehran on Wednesday. On Moscow nuclear talks, Mehmanparast said efforts are focused on holding successful talks. However, he reiterated, the successful outcome would depend on the 5+1 approach./end
