FM Spokesman Rejects Anti-Iran Verdict Of US District Court

Tehran, Dec 12, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Sunday strongly rejected and condemned a biased verdict issued by a US district court accusing Iran of complicity in an AL Qaeda’s 1998 bombing of US Embassy in Kenya. The unfounded and baseless allegations raised by the US district court is part of a scenario masterminded by the US administration against the Islamic Republic of Iran in which six people have filed lawsuit against Iran, he said. Referring to the record of activities of AL Qaeda under support of the US administration, he said martyrdom of nine Iranian diplomats in Afghanistan in 1998 proves Iran’s righteousness and the baselessness of US allegations, he said. In fact, the US tries to justify and cover up its own setbacks and those of the illegitimate Zionist regime in the region through various scenarios against the Iranian nation and government but to no avail, Mehmanparast said. /end
