FM Spokesman: Shaheed Report Undocumented, Illegal

Tehran, March 3, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanaparst said the recent report of the United Nations Especial Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran Ahmad Saheed is partial and undocumented and is only a repetition of the claims raised against Iran by certain western countries. He said some media and press which are known for their confrontations with the interest of the Iranian nation and supporting terrorist groups are the unreliable sources of the accusations made by shaheed against Iran. He further expressed sorrow over compiling such a report which has seriously endangered the credibility of the human rights bodies and totally lacks legal authenticity. Mehmanparast stressed that respect to human dignity and people’s basic rights as well as religious teachings are Iran’s permanent commitment./end
