FM Spokeswoman Raps US Officials For Anti-Iran Remarks

Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham strongly criticized the US officials for their anti-Iran remarks and imposing new round of sanctions against Tehran. ˈInsisting on using sanction as a tool against the Iranian nation on the pretext of fresh sanctions and with the aim of imposing policies is completely against the diplomatic norms,ˈ Afkham said. Afkham pointed to the new pretexts by the US to impose new sanctions against Iran on the eve of new round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1, and said, ˈThese measures fully contradict the goals of international negotiations which need good will, mutual respect and confidence-building.ˈ She pointed to the accusations lodged against Iran as with regard to supporting terrorism, and said, ˈTheses accusations against Iran that itself is victim of terrorism and is in front-line of fight against terrorism is finding pretexts and is an immature understanding of the issue of terrorism./end
