FNC Speaker, IPU's Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union discuss cooperation

HANOI, 31st March, 2015 (WAM) -- Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC), has discussed with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Martin Chungong, ways to enhance cooperation between IPU and FNC. They also discussed the most important issues on the agenda of the 132nd Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting (IPU) held in Vietnam. Chungong briefed Al Murr on his visit to Syria and the report of the Secretariat General of IPU in this regard. FNC Speaker emphasised that the UAE is always focussing on humanitarian work and ways to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, in particular the Syrian refugees. On his part, Chungong hailed the positive efforts of the UAE Parliamentary Division and its various committees in the political and technical fields through Arabisation of the IPU's e-website site. The FNC is establishing the website in Arabic. He also hailed the members of the UAE Parliamentary Division in the 132nd Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting.
