Foreign affairs parliamentary committees of Russia, Israel to hold joint session in Moscow

MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. Foreign affairs committees of the Russian Federation Council upper parliamentary house and the Israeli parliament (Knesset) will hold a first joint meeting in Moscow until the end of spring session, Chairman of the Federation Council’s foreign affairs committee Konstantin Kosachev said on Wednesday. "Within the framework of (Federation Council Speaker) V.I. Matviyenko’s visit to Israel, I have had a separate meeting with Mr Tzachi Hanegbi (the chairman of the Knesset's security and foreign affairs committee) and agreed with him on future joint sessions of the two foreign affairs committees," Kosachev posted on his Facebook account. "The first session will be held until the end of spring (parliamentary) session in Moscow." "Inter-parliamentary ties between Russia and Israel are very promising and worth any additional effort," the lawmaker said. The Federation Council delegation headed by Speaker Valentina Matviyenko is paying an official visit to Israel. Read more
