Foreign Companies Ready For Oil Drilling In Caspian Sea: Official

Tehran, May 18, IRNA – Several Russian and Swedish oil companies have voiced readiness to conduct drillings in the Caspian Sea, a senior official at National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said here on Sunday. Talking to IRNA, Deputy Managing Director of Integrated Planning Department at NIOC Abdolreza Assadi underlined that his company welcomes participation of active foreign companies in conducting drillings in the deep waters such as the Caspian Sea. Caspian Sea enjoys rich hydrocarbon resources, he said, adding that so far the littoral states of the sea have made many investments for developing oil fields of the Caspian region./end
