Foreign Minister meets Vice FM of Lithuania

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In frames of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies (CoD) held July 22-24 in El Salvador, the Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has held a meeting with Mr Andrius Krivas, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. At the meeting, Mr Krivas put forward proposals to create a permanent mechanism of bilateral talks and to study a chance for establishing an agreement on economic cooperation. Moreover, he emphasized the countries are possible to boost cooperation in veterinary sector. In response, the Mongolian Foreign Minister emphasized an importance of brining the bilateral economic cooperation into a volume of the current political ties and touched an issue of an opportunity to cooperate in the infrastructure sphere. The sides exchanged views on the Mongolia-Lithuania cooperation within international organizations especially the UN. Lithuania has affirmed that it will back Mongolia at the 2016-2018 election of the United Nations Council for Human Rights (UNCHR) and the 2023-2024 election of the Non-Permanent Membership of the UN Security Council.
