Foreign Ministry Summons Pakistani Envoy Over Kidnapped Iranian Border-guards

Tehran, Feb 10, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Pakistani ambassador to Tehran Nour Muhammad Jadmani on Sunday to protest against kidnapping five Iranian border-guards along the Pakistani border by Jeish ol-Adl terrorist group Thursday night and transferring them into the Pakistani soil afterwards. Director-general of the Iranian Foreign Ministryˈs Department of West Asian Affairs voiced Iranˈs deep concern over the incident and called for an immediate investigation into the case. Referring to the occurrence of several terrorist incidents of this kind along the Pakistani border in the past few months, the Iranian official urged the Pakistani government to take measures to prevent repetition of such crimes in the future. He made it clear that the Iranian government is concerned about the health of kidnapped Iranian border-guards and expects that Pakistani government to guarantee an immediate and safe return of the soldiers and extradite those involved in the kidnapping to Iran. In the meantime, the Pakistani ambassador expressed regret at the kidnapping and pledged to convey Iranian message to the Pakistani government to investigate the case./end
