Foreign Ministry: Turkey crosses line in intervention of Egypt’s affairs

Azerbaijan, Baku, August 15 /Trend A.Taghiyeva / Turkey has crossed all reasonable limits in the issue of intervention in Egypt's internal affairs, a statement from Egypt's Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Thursday, Hurriyet newspaper reported. According to the newspaper, Egypt's Foreign Ministry condemns the statements of the governments of Turkey and Qatar on the situation in Egypt. Yesterday the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah condemned the violence against protesters in Egypt. Today, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Egyptian army committed genocide against its people. Erdogan also urged the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting during which measures should be taken to prevent the killing of protesters. On Wednesday, the Egyptian army launched a crackdown on the protesting supporters of ousted president Mohammed Morsi. The army used military equipment and firearms for this purpose. According to the official data, the number of those killed in the clashes exceeded 280 with more than 1000 wounded. Leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood movement claim that about 1500 people were killed during the dispersal of demonstrations and about 10,000 civilians were injured. Do you have any feedback?
