Former US Official Denounces Reverse Results Of White House Policies On Iran N-program

New York, July 14, IRNA – Former national security adviser for the White House Frank von Hippel denounced the reverse outcomes of the US policies towards Iran’s nuclear program. Talking to IRNA, he underlined the need for changes in the US administration’s approach towards Iran following the recent presidential elections in the country. If Washington persisted on its policy of pressures and sanctions the world would probably witness a gap between the US and the European Union, he noted. Von Hippel, who is also an expert in nuclear issues, described the US sanctions against Iran as destructive and highlighted the importance of using the brilliant chance of election of Hassan Rohani as new president of Iran to achieve an agreement. He reiterated that given the stands of Rohani, Washington will be facing very hard conditions if it goes on with its harsh policies. The US professor further noted that the biggest issue hindering an agreement between Tehran and Washington is the three-decade-long record of distrust between the two countries./end
