Forthcoming BRICS summit to discuss measures to counter interference in internal affairs

MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. The BRICS summit to be held in the capital of Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan in the Urals region will discuss the ways to stand up against interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters on Tuesday. "Political issues have featured highly on the agenda of the BRICS summit beginning with 2009, including in Fortaleza, it will also feature highly during the summit in Ufa," he said. "Above all, it will be discussed from a perspective of dealing with crises, terrorism and organized crime." According to Ryabkov, it’s also planned to look into the issue of what should be done "in the interests of protecting national sovereignty, national identity amid unceasing attempts to interfere in internal affairs, to impose models of political and economic development alien to these countries, and how to develop antidotes and immunities for such attempts." The BRICS summit will be held in Ufa on July 8-9, 2015. Read more
