France, Azerbaijan discuss Diaspora`s activity

Baku, February 8 (AzerTAc). Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov met Wednesday with deputy chair of the France-Caucasus friendship group, head of the France-Azerbaijan working group, senator Nathali Goulet. Ibrahimov pointed out such visits play an important role in development of relationship between the countries. According to him, Azerbaijan places major emphasis on the relationship with Europe. Ibrahimov stressed the importance of the visit of French senators to Azerbaijan amid ongoing political developments is important. He thanked the senators for taking a fair stance during discussions on the French senate`s bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called “Armenian genocide”. Goulet labeled meetings held in Azerbaijan as `rich`, saying bilateral relations between the two nations would continue to develop. She hailed the activity of Azerbaijan`s embassy in France and Diaspora for expanding cooperation.
