France renews call for UN to discuss Syria humanitarian aid corridor

PARIS (A.A) - February 15, 2012 - France has asked the United Nations once again to discuss a proposal to establish a humanitarian aid corridor in Syria. "Protecting civilians in Syria and the humanitarian dimension is of utmost importance," French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe told a French radio. Paris made its initial appeal to the UN last November to set up a humanitarian corridor in Syria. Responding to a question, Juppe said a Security Council resolution was needed to refer Syria to the International Criminal Court.
