Friday prayer leader voices support for Rouhani government

TEHRAN,July 20(MNA) – The leader of this week’s Friday prayers Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi voiced support for the government of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. During sermons before the prayers at Imam Khomeini Mosalla, Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi reiterated the remarks by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, saying, “We also support and approve of the government. However, the reform of affairs which is done through moderation and thoughtfulness is favorable to all people.” He added that President Rouhani, who has never been involved in any form of sedition and had condemned the incidents following the 2009 presidential elections, should not have given posts to extremists in his administration.
