Friedrich Ebert Foundation contributes to Mongolia's democracy

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FEF) gave precious advice to Mongolian democratic leaders in 1990s about keeping a unification of political parties. It was sounded Monday by the Minister of Labor G.Bayarsaikhan MP during a meeting with Mr Stefan Hrobot who has been appointed recently the Country-director of the FEF for Mongolia. Since the start of cooperation in 1993, the FEF has been significantly contributing to delivering democratic values and ideology and to strengthening the democracy in Mongolia, Bayarsaikhan said. In response, Mr Hrobot said the FEF can give advice concerning upgrading a legal environment of the labor sector and renovation of the labor law, one of the main documents in the labor sector. The Minister thanked the foundation for proposing a development of the Mongolian labor sector and said the collaboration is possible also in the laws on employment, labor force and vocational training. The FEF is a German political foundation associated with the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), yet independent of it. Established in 1925 as the political legacy of Friedrich Ebert, Germany's first democratically elected President, it is the largest and oldest of the German party-associated foundations. The FEF currently has offices and projects in over 100 countries.
