G5+1 Should Show Goodwill In Upcoming Vienna Talks: Ex-Duma Official

Moscow, Feb 16, IRNA - Former Vice Speaker of the Russian State Duma Sergey Baburin said here on Saturday that the West should show goodwill in the upcoming nuclear negotiations slated for February 21 in Vienna. Talking to IRNA, Baburin underlined the upcoming nuclear negotiations will be an appropriate opportunity for taking bigger steps towards inking a comprehensive agreement on Iranˈs peaceful nuclear program. He stressed that Iran is fully ready to settle its nuclear issue and remove the existing misunderstandings with the world powers. Baburin also advised the US President Barak Obama to be honest in his moves and policies on Iran and not to be influenced by anti-Iran Jewish lobby that is monitoring the US Congress. The Washington’s carrot and stick policy regarding Iranˈs nuclear issue has tarnished the US image at international arena, he added. Europe, unlike the US, has interests in settlement of Iranˈs nuclear issue, he said, adding that European leaders are long waiting to ink a comprehensive nuclear deal with Iran, he said. Baburin stressed that settlement of Tehranˈs nuclear issue would open a bright chapter in cooperation with Europe, reiterating that the European officials would not lose the opportunity to establish strategic ties with Tehran./end
