Gadhafi's son to be tried in Libya

TRIPOLI (A.A) - November 23, 2011 - One of sons of ex-Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi will be tried in Libya. Speaking to AA correspondent in Tripoli, the International Criminal Court's (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo who had issued an arrest warrant for Saif al-Islam Gadhafi said that his trial could be held in Libya if a genuine and fair judiciary process was assured in the country, adding however ICC judges must be involved in the process. Ocampo said that he knew that Gadhafi's son's trial in Libya was of great importance for Libyan people, and they had respect for it. When asked whether ICC reached an agreement with Libyan officials on the trial, Ocampo said that ICC came here to learn what Libyan authorities would do, as they had to comply with the rules.
