Gargash: London Quartet on Yemen a step forward

LONDON, 21st July, 2016 (WAM) - Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has described the outcome of the quartet’s meeting on Yemen, held in London yesterday, as "positive and reflecting the high level of coordination and rapprochement among regional and international powers." In a message he posted yesterday on his twitter account, Dr. Gargash said the foreign ministers of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the United States and the United Kingdom, agreed that the current stage is crucial and pledged support to international efforts aimed at resolving the Yemeni crisis. He added that all parties reviewed peace efforts and agreed that key to political solution is the withdrawal of Houthi militias from the capital and other major cities. He emphasised the need for the Yemenis to realise that the Kuwait meeting offers a rare opportunity. He urged them to rise above personal ambitions to overcome this crisis. - Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates-arab-international/1395297981104.html
