Gas Pipeline Explosion Kills 2 In Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb 19, IRNA – 36-inch gas pipeline of the Qadirpur gas field in southern Sindh province exploded resulting in the death of two people on Wednesday, local media reported. The deceased were identified as security guards of the pipeline. Two villagers also sustained injuries due to the explosion and were taken to a nearby hospital. Police believes that the incident was an act of terrorism. According to the managing director of Sui Northern Gas Company Arif Hameed, the gas pipeline will be repaired in 24 hours. Emergency was declared in the gas field area and as the plant was closed, gas supply was suspended to different areas in the region./end
