GEC submits result of Presidential election to parliament

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the General Election Commission (GEC) Ch.Sodnomtseren submitted Monday to the Speaker Z.Enkhbold a result of the Presidential election of Mongolia held last week. The GEC head noted that he presents the election result to parliament in order to recognize the authority for a candidate from the Democratic Party (DP) Ts.Elbegdorj who won the Presidential election, taking majority of votes (50.23%). At its meeting to be held Tuesday, the parliamentary Standing committee on state structure will discuss a draft law on acknowledging the authority of the new President and a draft resolution of parliament on fixing up a date of the oath taking ceremony.
