Gen Prawit attends ASEAN-Russia defence ministers’ meeting

BANGKOK, April 25 (TNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon left Bangkok for Moscow today to attend the Informal Meeting of the Defense Ministers of ASEAN and Russia from April 25 to 28. The meeting happens to mark the 20th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations and is aimed at boosting cooperation on security and military affairs. On the occasion, Gen Prawit will also attend the 5th Moscow International Security Conference, for which Russia invited defence ministers of more than 50 countries to discuss regional and international security issues, new security threats and terrorism. In this trip Gen Prawit will have bilateral talks with the defence ministers of Laos, Myanmar, Russia, Singapore and Vietnam to strengthen relations and cooperation on security and military issues.
