Gen Prawit to pay official visit to China

BANGKOK, April 6 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister and also Defence Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan will pay a three-day official visit, starting this Wednesday, to China, said a Defence Ministry spokesman on Monday. The spokesman said Gen Prawit would be accompanied by several high ranking officers and ministers including Deputy Defence Minister and also Army Commander-in-Chief Gen. Udomdej Sitabutr, military commanders. Gen. Prawit and the accompanying delegates are schedule to confer with Chinese Defence Minister Chang Wanquan during the visit, the spokesman said. Talks would focus on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between defence ministries of the two countries. China and Thailand will celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations later this year. (TNA)
