Geneva Agreement, Recognition Of Iran’s N-right: Lawmaker

Islamabad, Jan 8, IRNA – A Pakistani lawmaker has said that Iran-G5+1 nuclear agreement signed in Geneva is the recognition of Iran’s nuclear right. Talking to IRNA, Ali Muhammad Khan Member of National Assembly said that steadfastness and positivity of Iran has forced the West to change its policy towards Iran. He added that it is good that January 20 has been proposed for implementing the Geneva agreement and both sides are making preparations for it. Majid Takhte-Ravanchi , Iranian deputy foreign minister for European and American affairs has said that Iran’s technical nuclear talks with the Sextet is almost finished and a couple of remaining issues are in need of decision making by the two sides’ politicians. “Iran does not back down an iota from its nuclear right,” said Ali Muhammad Khan. The legislator went on to say that the nuclear agreement is the success of Iranian diplomacy. The political leader said that Iran has become a role model for the countries of the region. He asked the leaders of Pakistan to follow the footsteps of Iranian leaders and stand up for the rights of the people of Pakistan. He strongly believed that Iran’s nuclear agreement would bring peace and stability in the world as well as the region. He also asked US to quit the policy of double standards and develop a working relationship with all countries of the world. Ali Muhammad Khan expressing his views said that approval of a resolution by the UN based on Iranian proposal shows that world accepts Iran as major country of the world. On December 18, President Hassan Rouhani’s World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) proposal was ratified at the UN General Assembly with 190 positive votes. The WAVE Act calls on all nations across the globe to denounce violence and extremism. The Iranian President made the proposal in an address to the UN Disarmament Conference in New York on September 25. Ali Muhammad Khan said that WAVE act is based on the principles of Islam. “Islam denounces extremism and stresses its followers to adopt the path of peace,” he added./end
