Geopolitical Fatalism No Longer Exists on Korean Peninsula: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The service personnel and people of the DPRK celebrate July 27 as the eternal war victory day because that day gave origin to the tradition of victory of heroic Korea by frustrating every aggressive scenario of the U.S. counting on its enormous muscle, and heralded the advent of an epoch-making event in which geopolitical fatalism came to an end on the Korean peninsula, Rodong Sinmun Friday says in its commentator's article. It continues: The Korean war in the 1950s was a war of aggression provoked by the U.S. imperialists because of the geopolitical significance of the Korean peninsula in implementing the U.S. strategy for world domination from A to Z. The U.S. imperialists massacred Koreans in such a brutal manner as putting the Hitler fascists into the shade. They even used germ and chemical weapons prohibited by international law during the war. Unable to retrieve their setbacks in the war, they threatened to use A-bombs without delay as an ultimatum. The DPRK, however, frustrated the U.S. ultimatum with its ideological and moral superiority and strategic and tactical superiority. The DPRK's victory in the war terminated the U.S. imperialists' history of victories in wars as they claimed never sustained any defeat in over 100 wars. It thus dropped the curtain on the geopolitical fatalism which became a maxim in the whole course of human history of wars. The DPRK emerged a nuclear power with tremendous capability to protect the sovereignty and peace true to the Workers' Party of Korea's strategic line on simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and the building of nuclear force. Fatalism on the Korean peninsula which had to fall victim to the scramble of big powers for its geopolitical significance has become a thing of the past. The DPRK is capable of striking the U.S. at any time and at any place as the DPRK pleases, keeping the U.S. within the striking range. The nuclear weapons which the DPRK inevitably had access to for self-defence not only protect one country and nation but ensure the peace in the region and other parts of the world and happy future of humankind. The world will clearly see before long the powerful socialist country in the east achieve a final victory, exercising the right and influence as the master of its destiny and driving force for developing the situation in the region and the world. -0-
