Georgia to go ahead with efforts to normalize relations with Russia - PM

TBILISI, March 25. /TASS/. Georgia will go ahead with a constructive and pragmatic policy of normalizing relations with Russia, Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili told a news conference. Over the past two and a half years "our constructive policies and new pragmatic approaches succeeded in de-escalating tensions in relations with Russia." "We have tried to normalize relations with Russia and there is an improvement in mending and developing trading and economic cooperation," Garibashvili said, adding that "on the political track there has been no special progress." "It is important to ensure our main partners, such as the United States and the leading European countries, supported Georgia’s leadership in its policies towards normalizing relations with Russia," Garibashvili said.
