Georgian leader speaks for easing tensions with Russia

TBILISI, March 31. /TASS/. Georgia wants to ease tensions in relations with Russia, President Georgy Margvelashvili said on Tuesday. "Our task is to improve relations with Russia based on the principles of equality and Georgia's state interests," Margvelashvili said calling for active international support in easing tensions with Russia. He also said Georgia should develop ties with NATO and the European Union. "Georgia's security and prosperity are directly connected with the country's European and Euro-Atlantic integration," the president said. He said that Europe "needed a democratic, stable and strong Georgia." Read more
