German official calls on all sides to be committed to JCPOA

Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Prov, Nov 9, IRNA – A German official has said here that Iran is faithful to its JCPOA commitments, stressing that the other sides should also be committed to the deal. The visiting Olaf Lies, Minister for Economics, Labor and Transport of the German state of Niedersachsen, made the remarks in a meeting held Tuesday evening with Governor General of this northwestern Iranian province Esmail Jabbarzadeh. Lies in the meeting described the obstacles to financial exchange between the two countries as the most important question in line with expansion of relations. One of the German banks has expressed readiness to resume ties with the Iranian banks, but other banks in Germany are still worried about interaction with Iran, said Lies, adding the country is seriously following up removing banking problem. Iran and the six world powers- the US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany- reached a landmark nuclear agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on July 14, 2015. Afterwards, anti-Iran sanctions were lifted in January, 2016. In Iran, the German official said, he and his delegation got familiarized with the developments in the country and held talks with the Iranian businesspersons and industrialists. Opening of a representative office of German Niedersachsen in Iran for the first time has been among the good results of bilateral talks between the two, Lies noted. For his part, the provincial official said the JCPOA has led to holding good talks between Iran and Germany. But, Jabbarzadeh noted, Iran does not accept that its international relations to be made under the US permission. He further referred to Iran's good relations with the European Union (EU), adding that the political officials should facilitate ways of widening bilateral ties. 1378/IRNA
