Berlin, Jan 8, IRNA – The German government here Monday reaffirmed its "interest“ in resuming P5 plus 1 (US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany) talks with Iran aimed at resolving the row over Tehran’s nuclear program. Addressing a press briefing in the German capital, foreign ministry spokesman Andreas Peschke stressed his country’s "basic readiness“ in restarting negotiations with Iran, saying it was also in Berlin`s interest. Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has repeatedly voiced support for a diplomatic and political solution of the Iranian nuclear issue, he added. Peschke said the venue and date for such talks have yet to be determined. Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary and top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili expressed hope last week that talks with the six major powers could be jump-started very soon./end
