Germany Stresses Iranˈs Global Strategic Importance

Berlin, March 8, IRNA - A senior German foreign ministry official has emphasized Iranˈs global strategic importance for all important countries of the world, including Germany. Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the 48th Berlin Tourism Fair, Director-General for Culture and Communication at the German Foreign Ministry Hans-Ulrich Seidt praised Iranˈs utmost strategic significance to the world countries due to its rich history, culture and traditions. He said if the political conditions were ripe following the conclusion of a final nuclear deal, Iran could become a strategic partner for Germany in a long-term period. That would also mean that Berlin and Tehran could then resume their good bilateral ties in all areas, Seidt noted adding, then the two capitals could move from a ˈstand-by mode to a hopeful active mode.ˈ He hoped that Iran nuclear talks could lead both sides to reach from ˈa waiting mode to a very active mode of cooperation.ˈ Seidt, also Germanyˈs former ambassador to Afghanistan and South Korea, said that Tehran and Berlin enjoyed a centuries-long cultural relations./end
