Global Council for Tolerance and Peace seeks cooperation with AZERTAC-chaired international organization

Baku, April 12, AZERTAC Head of department at Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Marlen Wehbe said the council seeks cooperation with the Organization of Asia and Pacific News Agencies (OANA), which is chaired by AZERTAC, as she met with Chairman of the Board of the agency Aslan Aslanov. Employee of Algeria`s "Nahar TV" Jamaladdin Busha was also present at the meeting. Marlen Wehbe said she visited Azerbaijan to observe the presidential election, adding that the voting took place in a democratic and transparent fashion. She hailed Azerbaijan`s efforts to promote tolerance and peace, saying the Council seeks to build close relations with the country in this regard: "We are interested in signing an agreement on cooperation with OANA. We should spread out tolerance and peace using wide opportunities of AZERTAC and OANA," Marlen Wehbe added. Aslan Aslanov said several media representatives observed the presidential election, adding that foreign press attached great importance to covering the voting. Mr. Aslanov noted AZERTAC has chaired OANA since 2016. “In this capacity, AZERTAC has taken important measures to ensure delivery of products of more than 40 news agencies to wider audience.” "AZERTAC also holds the presidency of the News Agencies World Congress, which includes more than hundred news agencies. The agency maintains close fruitful cooperation with several international organizations.” Mr. Aslanov said AZERTAC is ready to build relations with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.
