Govt opens centres to take complaint from people affected by protests

BANGKOK, January 10 (TNA) - The Centre for Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) has set up centres at police stations and district administrative offices nationwide to receive complaint from people who are affected by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC)’s plan to shut down Bangkok next week. CAPO chief Surapong Tovichakchaikul on Friday said people who are affected by the PDRC protesters can file the complaint with the police around the clock via newly-set up hotline telephone number 1356. Surapong, who is also caretaker deputy prime minister and foreign affairs minister, urged people to continue their living as normal when the PDRC carry out the plan to paralyze Bangkok from next Monday. Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok said for those living in Bangkok, they could file the complaints with the Crime Suppression Division, while those in other provinces, they could lodge the complaints at local police stations, district offices and provincial halls. Caretaker Commerce Minister Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan, meanwhile, warned all parties not to spread any information that might cause misunderstanding and social division and dampen the confidence of the international community in Thailand.
