Gunmen Kill 2 In SW Pakistan In Sectarian Attack

Islamabad, Oct 15, IRNA -- Gunmen shot dead two people in the Pakistani southwestern city of Quetta on Sunday in a sectarian-motivated attack, police said. The gunmen, riding a motorcycle, fired at a van on Liaquat Bazaar area in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, killing one person on the spot. Four others were injured who were shifted to the city’s main civil hospital. One of injured died of wounds in hospital, doctors said. Police described the incident as a targeted attack and said all those killed and injured were Shia Muslims. The banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claimed responsibility for the attack. Abu Bakar Siddiq, spokesman for the group, also warned journalists of consequences if the news was not published./end
