Gunmen Kill 4 People In Target Attack In Pakistan’s Quetta

Islamabad, Oct 17, IRNA – Unidentified gunmen shot dead four people in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province on Tuesday in an apparent target attack, police sources said. The gunmen, riding on a motorcycle opened fire at the people in a shop in the busy marketplace in Quetta, the provincial capital. Four people were injured in the brazen attack, who later died of wounds in hospital, police rescue said. The gunmen fled after the incident. No group claimed responsibility. Sources said that all slain men belong to ethnic Shiite Hazara community, who are under target attacks for months. Police and members of other law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and collected evidences. Quetta and other parts of Balochistan have been under the grip of targeted attacks for months but the law enforcement agencies have failed to check violence. Police sources said that 16 people have been shot dead in different incidents of firing in Quetta over the past one week. Banned extremist groups are blamed for sectarian attacks./end
