Head Of Iran's IRIB In Turkey On Official Visit

Ankara, Sept 10, IRNA – Head of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezzatollah Zarghami arrived in Istanbul Monday at an invitation of his Turkish counterpart Ibrahim Shahin to discuss promotion of cooperation between IRIB and Turkish Television and Radio Corporation (TRT). Zarghami and Shahin are to discuss grounds for Tehran-Istanbul cooperation in media, scientific and cultural fields. Regarding the key role media plays in expansion of relations between nations, the IRIB and TRT chiefs would discuss ways to exchange various TV programs including news, training and technical programs. The IRIB and TRT have previously signed an agreement for further cooperation on film and series-making as well as producing documentary and animations. Many of the Iranian films and programs have, so far, been broadcasted by TRT for Turkish audience. While in Turkey, Zarghami is to meet Iranian residents and attend a press conference attended by heads of certain Turkish media./end
