Heads of government of CIS countries meet with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev

Astana, November 2, AZERTAC President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has received heads of the delegations participating in the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Astana, Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov attended the meeting. President Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the importance of the session in terms of strengthening cooperation among CIS countries. He said the session will contribute to the development of mutually beneficial relations, pointing to the importance of developing trade and economic ties among the CIS member states. “Over more than 25 years the CIS has proved to be a full-fledged organization and managed to preserve historic ties between our nations. Mutual trade in the CIS continues to post a robust growth. Last year trade made $164 billion, which is an increase of 25%," said the Kazakh President. Nursultan Nazarbayov pointed out the need to carry out practical work on the implementation of the proposals put forward at the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. He said he believes the implementation of those initiatives will not only boost economic growth, but also help strengthen friendly and stable relations between the CIS countries.
