Hundreds Of Indian Muslims Protests Against Attacks On Holy Shrine In Syria

New Delhi, Sept 8, IRNA – Hundreds of Indian Muslims, mainly Shias Saturday protested at Jantar Mandar in central Delhi against the recent terrorist attacks on the Holy Shrines in Syria. Under the banner of Aalami Shia Imamia Ithna-e-Ashari Akhbari, Mohammedan Law Board (ASIIAAMLB), protestors, carrying placards condemning attacks on Holy Shrines and raised their voices for the protection and safeguarding of the Holy Shrines around the world. Addressing the protestors, Syed Waheeduddin Hyder Jaffery (Akbari), President- ASIIAAMLB, said: Disrepute to the religious monuments and historical places in Syria is not only hurting the religious sentiments but damaging the peace and harmony among difference religions. He highlighted the recent incidents relating to the damaging of Holy Shrines of Janab-e-Zainab (A.S.), grand daughter of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), in Syria. Condemning the attack, Hyder Jaffery said that this heinous crime has brought a black name for the civilized world. Later-on ASIIAAMLB presented a Memorandum to the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, asking him to use India’s influence for the protection of the Holy Shrines all around the world. It said the Holy Shrines, religious monuments of any religion is to be protected by the world associations so as to bring peace and harmony, equality, love and affection between different religions, caste, creed among different nations. The Memorandum also demanded the government of India, the largest democracy in the world, to launch a protest in the United Nations for protecting the religious monuments of any religion/faith in anywhere in the world with particular reference to Syria and Iraq./end
