IAEA Deputy Hopeful About Tehran Talks

Vienna, Feb 13, IRNA – International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts called Wednesday talks between Iran and IAEA ˈgood talks to resolve the differences between the two sidesˈ. ˈDifferences remain but we will work hard to try to resolve these differences,ˈ Nackaerts told reporters before leaving Vienna for Tehran. He said IAEA aims to finalize a modality which should facilitate the remaining problems; problems which are connected with the probable military dimensions (PMD) of Iranˈs nuclear program. Iran and IAEA have been negotiating for more than a year to devise a modality to clarify how Iran should answer IAEAˈs questions on the issue of PMD. Iran believes 2007 modality is a good pattern for devising the new modality. A new round of talks starts on Wednesday between Iran and IAEA team led by Nackaerts./end
