Ilia II: Azerbaijan-Georgia friendly relations are exemplary

Baku, June 13, AZERTAC “Azerbaijan and Georgia enjoy excellent friendly relations in a variety of fields, including in religious area. Azerbaijani-Georgian friendship is an example and no force can undermine this friendship,” said the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II as he received a delegation led by chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov. Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II emphasized the role of state and government leaders in developing bilateral relations between the two countries. He said the Georgian people have always felt President Ilham Aliyev's special attention and care. Ilia II praised the activities of Azerbaijani companies in Georgia, adding that the projects implemented by SOCAR contribute to bringing people closer to each other and improving their well-being. Ilia II also hailed First-Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva’s role in developing cultural relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan. Fuad Muradov said the President of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the relations with Georgia. “As a result of the successful policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, Georgia-Azerbaijan relations have reached the level of strategic partnership.” He highlighted the history of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Muradov emphasized that Azerbaijan and Georgia support each other's territorial integrity.
