Imam Khomeini Continues To Inspire Muslims World Over : Analyst

Islamabad, Feb 3, IRNA -- A Pakistani independent analyst on Sunday said that father of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini was a great leader and continues to inspire Muslims even after so many years of his demise. Talking to IRNA Prof. Hasan Askari Rizvi said that Islamic Revolution was a unique development that established that Islam can be foundation of Revolution that serves the cause of common people. “Despite opposition from the whole West the Islamic Revolution has consolidated and brought about substantial changes in the lives of the common people,” noted the intellectual. The scholar expressing his views said that Islamic Revolution not only made the lives of people better but also increased its linkages with other Muslim states and the rest of the world. He added that the US applied different kinds of sanctions on Iran but it has failed to isolate Iran in the international system. Rizvi added that Iran today stands as a credible Middle Eastern state that has not only brought about positive changes in Iranian society but has also become an important player in regional politics. Giving his views about the personality of Imam Khomeini he said late Imam was the spirit as well as the leader behind the success of the Islamic Revolution. “Despite his death in 1989 Imam Khomeini continues to inspire people of Iran and a large number of Muslim movements elsewhere,” said the analyst. “Imam Khomeini was an ideologue and source of inspiration and continues to hold that position even after so many years of his demise,” viewed the expert on international affairs.
