Imam Khomeini, Greatest Leader Of 20th Century: Former Envoy

Islamabad, Feb 1, IRNA - A former Pakistani ambassador on Saturday said that the Founder of the Islamic Republic the late Imam Khomeini was the greatest leader of 20th century who had changed the fate of the entire nation. Talking to IRNA the former envoy to UAE, Air Marshal (Retd) Syed Qaiser Hussain congratulated Iran on the 35th anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution. The analyst said that the Islamic Revolution was a historic event, adding that it is still flourishing in Iran despite all western plots. “The people and government of Iran are committed to the Islamic Revolution,” he said, adding that the Islamic Revolution is mature now and cannot be defeated. He said that Imam Khomeini was a true Muslim and had established the Islamic Republic according to the principles of Islam, urging leaders of the Muslim world to follow the footsteps of Imam Khomeini. He viewed that the Revolution fulfilled the aspirations of the people as Imam Khomeini refused to yield before Western powers. The former diplomat praised guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, saying, “The Supreme Leader is not only the leader of Iran but a spiritual guide for all Muslims”. He confidently said that the future of the Islamic Revolution is very bright./end
