Independent nations should unite against hegemons: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN, May 23 (MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that independent countries should unite against the arrogant powers. Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting with the visiting Sudanese presidential advisor, Mustafa Osman Ismail, in Tehran on Tuesday. “Today, the hegemonistic powers and enemies of humanity are putting pressure on independent nations and governments, including Iran and Sudan,” he said, adding, “All independent nations and governments are obligated to stand up to those who make unreasonable demands through (promoting) empathy and brotherhood and supporting each other.” He also said, “The current situation (in the world) will not remain stable, and nations will certainly emerge victorious through patience, resistance, and reliance on God.” Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian president said that the Islamic Republic will stand by the Sudanese people and will back any measure meant to expand relations between the two countries. The Sudanese official, for his part, called for increased cooperation between Khartoum and Tehran and said that his country is keen to use Iran’s experience and support. Ismail also delivered Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir’s written message to Ahmadinejad.
