India-Iran Can Become “An Ideal” For Other Nations In Field Of Friendly Ties: Indian leader

New Delhi, May 19, IRNA -- Recalling the centuries old historical and traditional India-Iran ties, an Indian leader Saturday said that there is a need to enhanced cooperation and increased relations between both sides. Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of a program at Iran Embassy in New Delhi, Pandit N K Sharma, former advisor to the then Prime Minister, Narasimha Rao, said: “By making contacts at higher level, both the countries can become good example for other countries in the field of friendly ties and cooperation”. Sharma was attending the Press Conference hosted by Iran Embassy on the eve of the Int’l conference on Sufi Saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti (RA), being organized in New Delhi by Universal Association for Spiritual Awareness (UASA) on 19th May 2012. Sharma, who is also the national president of UASA, noted that the element of spiritualism in the lives of the people of the two friendly countries make them different from others but bring them closer to each other because of this commonality. Sharma further noted that in the changed global scenario when everything centers around economic issues, the element of spirituality and culture brings dignity and self-respect in one’s life. Maintaining that Iran and India have rich traditional and historical relations, Sharma stressed there is a need to increase people to people contact between the two countries through cultural exchanges. “That would strengthen not only the solidarity and the cultural ties between two nations of India and Iran but the outcome will boost the political and economic relationship between the two friendly nations, and that certainly will help in the development of the two countries,” noted prominent leader. He emphasized that both, India and Iran can play a meaningful role in the regional cooperation by working closely on issues which will bring peace and security in the region and the world. Union Minister for Human Resource Development and Communication & IT, Kapil Sibal will release a commemorative stamp during the conference, organized by Universal Association for Spiritual Awareness (UASA)./end
